Workout videos!
Physical activity is essential during the lockdown as it doesn’t’ only prevent weight gain as you will not be moving as much as when we could leave our homes. Still, it is also essential to keep your brain active, so you will start to feel more alert, less stress and happier. The best way to practice exercise is through workout videos where you can choose what type of workout you would like to perform and which part of your body would you like to focus on the most. However, it is also healthy to walk or go for runs outside as you get fresh air (as long as you are wearing a mask and keeping distance). It is also a great bonding activity for you and your family.

Virtual visits!
Do you miss just going outsides and seeing the world? Many places have now made virtual visits where you can discover new places through live webcams. For example, many Zoo’s have turned to this alternative, such as the Houston Zoo (link: https://www.houstonzoo.org/explore/webcams/) and the Georgia Aquarium (link: https://www.georgiaaquarium.org/guided-virtual-tours/). You can watch not only your favourite animals but also visit your famous museums such as Louvre (link: https://www.louvre.fr/en/visites-en-ligne#tabs) and The British Museum (link:https://britishmuseum.withgoogle.com/).

Read or write!
If you have watched all the shows and movies that Netflix has to offer, how about switching strategy to books. Now I know that bookstores, but there is also the option to order and download books online. Writing a book or even a blog is also an excellent way to get creative and help express feelings and dealing with all the emotional quarantine might be causing you.

Create your podcast!
If you don’t have the patience to write or read (just like most youth nowadays) create your podcast. The recent ones to jump on this trend were Teresa Ayala and Sara Mateus, who made their podcast called “Mandatory Talks” (Link: https://linktr.ee/MandatoryTalks). The girls address various modern-day issues such as racism and mental health. Now, you don’t have to talk about this as it is YOUR podcast. You may merely play music or talk about politics, whatever you please! This is a great activity that could boost your creativity and communicating skills and connect you with the school community.

Talent show!
Another way to have a couple of laughs and support the school community is to watch the virtual talent show that our dearest OIS students are hosting soon. Although there aren’t any determined dates I can for sure tell you it will be a lot of fun watching the great performances this year, mostly as this year a couple of other people at school wanted to join the fun. Here is a sneak peek!
Stay seated at home for this one, and I hope that now you know of all these activities that you would be bored until we get to see each other’s masks again!
