The Covid-19 Vaccine around the world

Many of you reading this article might have already taken the the Covid-19 vaccine shot, either the Pfizer, Moderna or Johnson and Johnson. Some of you however might be waiting for that text message calling you to get your shot. In Portugal, if you are over the age of 40, you might be lucky and get it in August. For the rest of us, we can wait, and wait, and wait.

What if you want to take it earlier?

If you are thinking about taking the Covid-19 vaccine in Portugal, you might as well wait in line. However, if you are willing to travel, you can get it in only 15 days. In the United States, as a resident, or a tourist, you can easily go to a pharmacy and request a covid-19 vaccine. No matter who you are, the vaccine will be completely free, and you can even choose what vaccine you get. If you want a fast experience, with only 1 dosage, you can request the Johnson and Johnson vaccine. If you want a higher efficacy, you can take the Pfizer vaccine, but you would need to stay in the U.S. for the second dosage.

For us living in Europe, the only issue is the American law restricting incoming travelers from the Schengen area. This law requires tourists to spend at least 15 days in a country outside of the Schengen prior to entering the United States.
