Movies and shows to watch during Spooky Month!

October is known as Spooky month since Halloween is on the 31st. So, here are some Thriller/Horror/Fantasy movies and series to watch!
-The nightmare before Christmas (Disney+)-
Of course I had to include a classic Tim Burton movie, The nightmare before Christmas originated from a poem written by Tim burton in 1982 and published as an animation movie on the 9th of December 1994. It’s a fantasy/family movie. Jack Skellington is a skeleton from Halloween town, one day he found a town called Christmas town and got enchanted by it. So, he decided to kidnap Santa Claus…
-High rise invasion (Netflix)-
High rise invasion is an action/survival horror/physiological horror anime series. The series was released on the 25th of February 2021 so it’s quite new. Unfortunately, there’s only one season for now and the release date for season 2 will only be announced in 2023. However, if you’re interested after watching the series you can check out the manga that was completed in March 2020! The story is about a high school student called Yuri Honjo who suddenly found herself in a mysterious world full of skyscrapers buildings and masked killers…
-Fear street (Netflix)-
Fear street is a horror/mystery movie series based on the Goosebumps Fear Street books written by R. L. Stine. There are 3 movies to it, Fear Street part 1: 1994, Fear Street part 2: 1978 and Fear Street part 3: 1666. The 3 movies are all connected with part one being more recent and the other ones being from earlier. In the first movie, a group of friends lives in a neighborhood where there’s always murder cases and they try to stop an evil force that’s been in the town for centuries. The second movie was about a summer campsite located in Shadyside (the same town from part 1) and in the last movie a colonial town is gripped by a witch hunt that has deadly consequences for centuries to come.
-Tokyo Ghoul (first season on Netflix)-
Tokyo Ghoul is a dark fantasy/thriller anime series. There are 3 series of it, 2 OVAs and a live-action movie. The series takes place in a world where there are ghouls and humans. The ghouls usually look exactly like humans however they’re sclera’s dark grey and their irises are bright red, and they feed on human flesh. One day the main protagonist Kaneki Ken gets attacked by a ghoul and was injured badly however the ghoul died in an “accident” and her organs were transplanted into Kaneki turning him into partly ghoul…
-Squid Game (Netflix)-
Squid game is a very recent series, the first episode was released in September 2021 and the series soon became very popular. It’s an action/thriller k-drama series. A lot of people who are in need of money were invited to a death game where they would participate in childhood games every single day, however…
