March has just passed, and we are ready to step into the next month of April (Featuring Easter holidays).
This month’s album is from an Italian band, Forgotten Tomb. Forgotten Tomb has been formed in 1999 in Placenza by Ferdinando Marchisio, nicknamed “Herr Morbid”. The band started off as a one-man black metal project, due to the disbanding of the previous black metal band, “Sacrater”.
The lyrical themes that the band has been using in the first albums was mainly revolving around melancholy and darkness. However, the themes the band is using today deal with nihilism and negativity.
The first 3 albums, “Obscura Arcana Mortis” (released in 2000), “Songs to Leave” (released in 2002) and “Springtime Depression” (released in 2003) were made by Herr Morbid, them playing on all instruments, where “Springtime Depression” was the last album to feature Herr Morbid on all instruments. By that time, the solo project has been evolved to a full band.
Listening to “Songs to Leave”, I would like to introduce you to it.

As I have said before, the album was released in 2002. It has been one of the band’s best albums to this day, featuring monotonous, but great riffs, as well with the bass and vocals. The bass in the album gives the songs a distinct tone and ambience, which in this genre, is crucial. I totally recommend this album, as it is one of the albums that are very rememberable in this style
