Method

1. Chop the chocolate into chunks. Melt half of the chocolate, saving the other half for later.

2. In a large bowl, mix/whisk the melted butter and sugar (brown and caster) with an electric hand mixer or whisk.

3. Then beat/whisk in the eggs and vanilla for 1-2 minutes, until the mixture becomes fluffy and light in color.

4. Whisk in the melted chocolate (make sure it's not too hot or else the eggs will cook).

5. Then add in the flour, cocoa powder, and 1.5 teaspoons of salt. Mix to incorporate the dry ingredients.

6. Fold in the chocolate chunks from earlier, then transfer the batter to the prepared baking dish. Anything around a 25x25 cm baking dish is fine, make sure it’s lined with parchment/baking paper.

7. Place in the fridge for 1 hour, this is to make sure its gooey in the middle after baking.

8. Preheat the oven to 180°C.

9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, depending on how fudgy you like your brownies

10. Sprinkle the rest of the salt, ½ a teaspoon or a pinch over the brownies while warm or towards the end of cooking.

11. Enjoy :)

End Piece

For the sake of everyone scrolling on their phone I decided to the boring inspiration piece after the recipe. Being in on and off lockdown I have had time to try lots of different recipes for fantastic treats to fill the hole of boredom that has been bored into my soul. Anyway, I have tried to make droughts or Berliners, croissants, lemon meringue pie, cheesecake and my biggest success, brownies. I adapted the recipe from Tasty’s “The Best Fudgy Brownies” but added stuff I think makes it a bit nicer. And It has been confirmed by many that these brownies are good enough to profit on as well as keep your mind occupied for 40 minutes.
