I would like to share with you Studio Ghibli, a Japanese film studio, which, in my opinion, is one of the best. They created many movies with all types of genres, and each film is as equally beautiful as it’s captivating. The first Studio Ghibli movie I've ever watched was "My Neighbor Totoro", and to this day, it is still something I can watch regularly. Here are some Studio Ghibli movies I recommend you should watch.
My Neighbor Totoro is a Japanese animated fantasy film written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki and animated by Studio Ghibli in 1988. It tells the story of a professor's two daughters, Satsuki the eldest and Mei the youngest, who just moved into their new home in the countryside where their mother is being treated, and their interaction with a friendly wood spirit, Totoro. This movie is more for younger kids, but I still enjoy it dearly. The background is appealing, and the details are well-drawn. Totoro is a character I hold deep inside my heart. His appearance looks a bit creepy but he is such a warm and kind big fluff. The sisters are so endearing, even if they both have their flaws and differences they still care for each other so much. Sometimes my sister and I say how I am Mei, and she is Sasuki, not just look-wise but also personality-wise, and it's quite funny. I think this movie is a masterpiece and whether you're old or young you should watch it.
Howl's Moving Castle is a fantasy anime also written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki in 2004. The story is set in a fictitious country where magic and twentieth-century technology prevail in a conflict with another kingdom. The plot revolves around Sophie, a young lady who is changed by a witch into an old woman. She encounters a wizard named Howl and follows him during his journey. During this period, she encounters many creatures and befriends them. Sophie is charming, level headed, and is responsible, she shows to be mature and knows what decisions are right. Howl is very dramatic, he cares A LOT about his appearances but he is sweet and an extremely powerful wizard. Howl's Moving Castle is a spectacular movie and the art is so well-drawn and captivating.
Princess Mononoke is a 1997 Japanese anime, directed and written by Hayao Miyazaki. It's set in the late Muromachi period of Japan which is around 1336 to 1573, but it includes fantasy elements. The story follows a young Emishi prince named Ashitaka, and his involvement in a struggle between the gods of the forest and the humans who consume their resources. While trying to stop the humans from destroying the forest, Ashitaka meets San, a girl who was raised by wolf gods. Ashitaka is a quick-witted young man, with great power who has to decide which side he will take, the iron town or the gods of the forests. San, otherwise known as Princess Mononoke or Wolf Girl, has her priorities straight but shows so much affection for the wolves that raised her and became her family. She holds a large power and can fight. Princess Mononoke is a marvellous movie, the graphics are rich and the colours match the setting and plot. Overall I recommend you watch it.
I hope you enjoyed these recommendations, and hopefully, you’ll watch them or any Studio Ghibli movie in general. Have a great day, and thank you for reading
