After several months of negotiation, hesitation and legal decisions, it was formally communicated that Elon Musk had finally purchased Twitter for $44 billion. The billionaire has been questioned several times for the reason why he was so interested in buying the world’s most powerful social media network and here’s all you need to know about it.

Stocks rose since the purchaseand so did Elon Musk’s importance.
Almost immediately after buying Twitter, Musk fired the company's CEO Parag Agrawal to become the CEO himself. In addition to this, it appears that apart from firing most of the top executives he also cleared over 3,700 jobs which represent half of the company’s past workforce. However, just as mentioned in “the Washington Post”, Musk had already repeatedly criticized these executives and encouraged these moves.
“The bird is freed” – Elon tweeted
Which is a way to wrap his conclusions about what he had just done. Musk’s intentions were to unban people such as Donald Trump from the platform and to enhance the “free-speech” abilities by open-sourcing the algorithms. He himself has openly discussed the pros and cons of this action in a TED talk. Even considering the inappropriate use of the social media platform, he is confident that the changes he makes will enable it to hold a free speech.
As a Twitter user himself, Musk involved himself in this busyness even earlier this year by acquiring a massive 9% share of the company, until of course he decided to go for the company itself. Hence, this deal has been dating for some time now, or at least the intentions were already carved. So, by potentially removing all ads, and spam bots, shutting the “ban-users” policy and open-sourcing the algorithm to the world, will you feel better at Twitter? Well, only time can tell, but there are for sure, several impacts to this arrangement, and Musk’s plans to alter the platform’s configurations are surely promising. Who knows, in a good way?
